Today, I want to share a quote that encourages us to step out of our comfort zones and reminds us about the potential that lies within us.
“A ship in harbor is safe, but thats not what ships are built for”
John A Shedd
Read it once, read it twice. The message is powerful – Your potential is unlimited. Reflect on what is stopping you. What is keeping you in your comfort zone – Is there a fear of failure?
Look fear in the face and take the step – that is courage!
Yes, change is hard. Further, we often settle for what is within reach. Often we pick easy goals or hard on ourselves feeling we can’t go for bigger goals.
Deep inside we know that there is a lot more we can do. We may just need a push or encouragement in some way.
What is interesting is that, once you decide – the way appears.
You will start to meet people & things happen.
So make the decision & go for it!
PRACTICE
- BREATHE: Take a moment to pause and breathe.
- Slow deep breathing… and guide your breath to go deeper
- Try breathing in for a count of 4 and breathing out for a count of 5 or longer
- REFLECT: on what is stopping you from
- What fears are showing up?
- What are you feeling?
- RESPOND:
- Come back to the breath & without any judgment notice your body, thoughts, or any sensations.
- Ask yourself are these thoughts helping or hurting me?
-
- With the next breath out Release and let go of what is not needed
or anything that is not helping you right now.
- With the next breath out Release and let go of what is not needed
Remember that
“You were born with potential.
You were born with goodness and trust.
You were born with ideals and dreams.
You were born with greatness.
You were born with wings.
You are not meant for crawling, so don’t.
